Cowrie Shells
  1. Begin by making a part down the center of the head.
  2. Part the hair in half ovals on the left side, and clip the rest of the hair on the left out of the way.
  3. Part the hair on the right side in the same way.
  4. Starting on the left side, cornrow the first half oval, following along the outer curve.
  5. Continue on the next right half oval, following along that outside curve.
  6. Continue alternating left to right.
  7. At the beginning of the first right half oval, loop the initial strands you'll start the cornrow with under the first stitch of the cornrow of the left half oval.
  8. Bring these back to the right half oval, and cornrow, following the outer curve.
  9. When you come to the second oval, of which the right side should already be cornrowed, loop the hair under this row.
  10. Continue cornrowing along the second left half oval.
  11. When you come to the next oval, simply cornrow over the existing row.
  12. Alternate under and over until the end.
